Yet Another Issue of Replacement on a Space Center Saturday

Today there was yet again another problem at the CMSEC.  Last Saturday the problem was that Adam H. was assigned to fly the Odyssey at 11:00.  But by 11:15 he still hadn't showed up and we couldn't keep the crew waiting any longer.  No one could contact Devin, and Christine was at iWorlds.  It turned out that Brittney had to fly the Odyssey and someone else would replace her spot of supervising on the Magellan.
This Saturday, Mr. Daymont was assigned to fly the Magellan, but he had other things to do, so Brittney would fly and we would call in another supervisor.  Well, Brittney wasn't feeling good, and Zac was doing some other project, so Nicole, who was supervising, did some of the FD stuff for her, like briefing and loading.  Then Brittney really felt awful by the end of that flight, so she was able to contact Zac and get him to come in and fly that next flight for her. Yes, it was another replacement Saturday at the CMSEC.

How to make the Guardian Bomb Away Mission Look Cool

Some of my tips to make this away mission look cool.   Just be safe though!

» put lights in good places such as: on the white counter, on the chair stacks, behind the white counter, under the projector screen
» some not so great places to put lights: behind the bridge door, by the trophies, by the trash bin
» get camo nets from the Galileo
» put black covers over everything!
» if it's an adult crew or trekkie crew, make sure you put a black cover over the Starfleet logo on the front of the white counter
» try and make your setup like a maze to get to the bomb
» if you have smaller kids make a tunnel out of a table and chair stacks (I say smaller because you don't want older kids hitting their heads)
» make sure you have the fish tanks on red alert and the projector on red alert
» you can put random items around to fool them into thinking they are the bomb
» don't just line the chairs up in a row. I know we have to be safe but there are some safe but cool ways to put chairs
» you should probably put black covers over the trash bins, but you don't have to
» Feel free to throw Romulan shirts or camo from the costume closet over stuff (just don't hang Romulan shirts on the whiteboard)
» you should block one of the ways to get behind the white counter, preferably the small one
» have music playing, preferably Protectors Of The Earth
» as far as the crew know, you just trashed this room.  Make it look like it's been trashed.
» you know that once this bomb explodes it will blow you up too. Make the room look a bit Romulanish because it's your last honor to the empire.

If any of you have anything you would like to add, feel free to comment.  Remember this refers specifically to the mission Guardians on the Magellan.

Space Center Story - Emily and the Door

I was volunteering an Odyssey mission that Emily Perry (now Paxman) was flying. I don't know If any of you remember Carrick, but he was the other volunteer. I was up on the bridge answering questions with Carrick.  He decided to leave, but as he left he positioned the black door right in front of the transporter.  Emily, who always seems to be in a rush where ever she goes, came rushing through the transporter and smacked her nose right into  the side of the door, startling the Tactical and Sensors officers. She could tell I wanted to just laugh out loud right then and there and was trying my best to hold it all in. She simply said to me, "You didn't just see that."  Then she left.
